We are not dead yet …

Ashley’s passport did NOT get issued out last night, but it did get issued out this morning first thing.  That means that right now a courier …

(Yes, I am paying for that)

… is getting ready to get on the bullet train to come to Guangzhou …

(Yes, I am paying for that also)

… and will deliver it to a driver …

(Ditto)

… who will take it straight to the US Consulate.

Now comes the prayer request for today.  The US Consulate said that they would do whatever it takes to get us our VISA.  So not only do you need to pray that someone will be willing to work late tonight, but that the encrypted security link between the US Consulate and Washington DC works!  That is doable, isn’t it?

Should all that happen, we will get on a late train tonight (or an early car tomorrow if it is too late) and head to Hong Kong and still catch our flight tomorrow.

Much thanks to Madison Adoption Assoc, Diana Bramble, Richard Yhang, and our local guide Lucia, for jumping through all the hoops!  Greatly appreciate everyone’s efforts on our behalf.

Phew!  We serve a last minute God!
