There is a park not far from the Garden Hotel that we frequent when we are here. It is, as with most, a memorial to someone who died protecting something. But it is nice because it had a lake in the middle with paddle boats. It is a nice way to pass some time. There is also a small child amusement park for kids 13 years old or younger. We have never taken advantage of that, but it is there if someone else ever wanted to use it.
We went the “back way” this time, a new way that we had never traveled before and I think it saves a little time.
Charlie wanted to take the bicycle ramp up rather than the steps and Ali obliged.
Once we got to the park we were able to get all of us on one boat! I am not sure that we didn’t surpass the weight limit, but we did it anyway. I am CERTAIN all these kids can swim!
Ali tried steering and sitting in the middle which ended up being a little problematic for her!
She then switched with Katelyn, while Ashley took over steering responsibilities.
Caleb was stuck on the hump!
Sometimes it is hard work to sit there and watch other people work and you need little liquid refreshment.
Now, if there is one thing that a 10 year old boy wants to do, it is steer the boat! Look out!!
And, we DO have two 10 year old boys!
After we spent almost an hour on the paddle boat with multiple people steering and peddling and only a few other boaters angry with us, we had to use the facilities. This sign was on the wall. I might beg to differ …
On our way out of the park, the kids stopped to watch roller-skaters at the outdoor rink.
Tomorrow is a crazy busy day. We start out with our appointment early in the morning with the U.S. Consulate office, finalizing all the aspects of the adoption. On Tuesday we will get our final paperwork from them and then we head home!
Then tomorrow afternoon we are going to the Safari Park and then tomorrow evening we are going to the Guangzhou circus! We will be home very late, so no blog until the following day. And, that blog will be one of the last on this site! It has great to see God’s hand throughout this adoption trip and look forward to see how He continues to work in our family’s life once we get home.
Have a blessed Sunday …
