As we move quickly towards the new additions to our already large family, one of the questions we get most often is “Where do they all sleep?” I would venture to guess this question is asked more than any other. So today I am going to show you. Kelly has been working feverishly over the last couple of weeks, redoing rooms and moving children all over the house! Zach and Jake are here less and less as college and life keeps them from home, so we decided to move them down to a room in the basement and make some adjustments on the second from.
Here is the room that all six girls used to sleep in. We now have only three sleeping girls sleeping here: Ali, Riley, and Jessie. This provides us options for the future!
We moved Brittany, Leah and Mia to the room at the end of the hall that used to house Luke and Caleb.
And Luke and Caleb moved to Zach and Jake’s old room, to be joined shortly by Charlie. The third bed isn’t in there yet, but will be soon! Lest you think that one of them would have to sleep on the floor.
We had to make some extra room because God has been speaking to us about a little girl that we will name Katelyn who is going to age out on her 14th birthday April 16. After a lot of prayer, we have decided to try and adopt her also on this trip. Here is her picture. She is precious.
Kelly and I were certain that THIS time our adoption agency would say no to three children being adopted again at the same time. On the surface, it seems foolish, especially on the heels of adopting the three girls just about 18 months ago. But when God say to do something, and you obey, doors open. Everyone has agreed and we are pushing forward in faith that God can accomplish what seems impossible. God is, in the end, a mountain moving God and we have seen that over and over.
We are now less than 70 days before Katelyn ages out and that time frame is much shorter than anything we have faced before. Jessie was a similar situation, but we had more time. Please be praying that things move very quickly so that we can look to travel mid-April and get her before April 16th.
God is good, and the journey with Him is never dull! We look forward to how God will bless this family again with more happy children.
